Question I need help to prevent Fake Anti-Spyware programs!?
This happened today and yesterday. I caught the Rogue programs yesterday by chance, multiple (Total Vista security, Total Internet security, Vista defender, etc.), and even though I got rid of it yesterday by performing system restore in Safe Mode it somehow managed to get into my computer again. I ran the AVG and Malwarebytes scans, but it didn’t seem to help as they kept coming back, and no virus or spyware/malware was found. My computer did not shut down, nor did anything stop running suddenly, and Firefox was working normally (Though it happened that Firefox suddenly crashed as I was looking for ways to remove the programs, and I need “Special permission” (I.e. The fake programs are telling me that it’s “dangerous”) to open the browser.). However, the second time I got the Rogue anti-spyware, after booting the computer in Safe Mode, the programs started appearing in that mode. Only when I did System Restore did everything go back to normal, but I fear those annoying pop-ups will come back.

My question is this: How can I make sure they don’t come back, if that is possible? Is there maybe something embedded into the system? I used Task Manager to try and remove it, but it did little to help. Also, how can I find the registry data of my computer? I’m running Windows Vista Home Basic. I found App data, but the malicious files are hidden. What should I do?
