What is a computer registry? A computer registry is basically a directory that holds options and specific settings for your computer. Your computer has to sift through this unnecessary information to get to the bits of code it needs to run your computer on a daily basis. This can result in a computer slowdown.

To trim the fat, one of two methods can be used. You can choose to learn how to edit registries and take out the unnecessary code yourself, or you can “hire” it done with what’s called a “Windows Registry Cleaner”.

I have seen both of these methods done, and both are valid ways to clean your computer’s registry. Learning can take a long time, but it can be done! I’ve personally seen people edit registries and fix their computers in no time. I’ve also seen people use software to fix their issues, which is way easier and less time consuming.

Understanding that your computer’s registry plays a significant part in the speed of your computer is the first step in solving your issue.
