I have just put “PC Internet Tools Security” onto my computer and since I installed it every thing is running very slow, I have defraged and got rid of progs I no longer need,
Can any one suggest a way of speeding things up?

Simple answer may be to uninstall it and find a more “light weight” solution for your PC. Are you running Windows XP? If so there’s a free PC Health-Check for Windows XP Systems at My Slow PC – just click on the link in the source and select “PC Health-Check” from the menu. If you post your report on their forum them can help offer advice. There’s also an example report you can see linked below.

Otherwise consider:

1.) Disk cleanup
2.) Chkdsk
3.) Defrag
4.) Scan for and remove spyware/adware
5.) Uninstall programs you don’t use anymore
6.) Stop services/processes at startup that you don’t need
7.) Check your hardware – do you have enough RAM for example?
